These rules keep the AYACC Community professional, inclusive, and trustworthy so members can share, learn, and collaborate safely.
Flag Types & What They Mean
Use the platform’s Report control or email admin@ayacc.net if you see content that breaks these rules.
harassment — Harassing or bullying behavior
Unwanted, targeted behavior meant to intimidate, shame, or belittle another person.
Examples: graphic images, explicit sexual material, or detailed descriptions of self-harm without clinical framing.
misinformation — Misleading or false information
Claims that are demonstrably false, misleading, or likely to cause harm if acted upon. Members should cite sources when sharing clinical or factual assertions.
Examples: demeaning stereotypes, slurs, or calls for exclusion.
offensive — Abusive or derogatory content
Hate speech, slurs, or content that attacks protected characteristics (race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, etc.), or language intended to demean.
Examples: demeaning stereotypes, slurs, or calls for exclusion.
suspicious — Fraud, phishing, or unsafe links/files
Content that appears fraudulent, includes suspicious attachments or links, or suggests account compromise.
Examples: unclear shortened URLs asking for credentials, unsolicited file attachments, or posts mimicking official AYACC messages.
Excessive Self Promotion — Overly promotional or commercial posting
Sharing about your work is allowed, but the platform is not a marketplace. Repeated or aggressive solicitations, sales pitches, or advertising are not permitted.
Allowed: sharing a relevant program link when it directly answers a question or posting in designated channels for events/partners.
Not allowed: repeated sales posts, mass solicitation, or promotional content that does not add clear professional value.
Additional Member Rules
- Protect privacy. Never post identifiable patient information (names, DOB, MRNs, photos) without written consent.
- Cite sources. When sharing clinical or research claims, include references or links to the original work.
- Be professional. Use respectful language; assume colleagues across disciplines will read your posts.
- Be constructive, not promotional. If sharing your work, explain how it helps professionals or AYAs rather than “selling.”
Reporting Content and Members
How To Report
There are two main ways to let us know that someone isn’t meeting our platform’s standards.
- Use the platform’s Report feature on the post or message. ⚑
- Email admin@ayacc.net with the post link, a short note, and any screenshots.
What Happens After a Report
- Triage & Investigation: Staff reviews reports and begins an investigation.
- Response Timeline: Staff will respond with next steps within 10 business days (complex cases may take longer).
- Possible Actions: Content removal, warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal, depending on severity and recurrence.
AYACC protects members who report in good faith and will not publish complainant identities.
Appeal Process
If you disagree with a moderation decision, email admin@ayacc.net with a brief appeal. Appeals are reviewed by Governance; expect a response within 10 business days.
